Originally from France, photographer Christophe Launay is currently living and working in Australia. Artistically, Christophe is driven by his passions, and his current portfolio is testament to this with images ranging from powerful visions of offshore racing, to serene and beautiful underwatercompositions. Born in New Caledonia in the Pacific, Chritophe's photographic career has been driven by his love of the ocean, adventure and yachting, coupled with naturally creative talent. As a yachtsman, Christophe has sailed around the globe, from classic regattas in the south of France to superyacht circumnavigations and the ill fated Sydney to Hobart race in 1998. He is dedicated to capturing the adrenalin and action of offshore racing and is capable of taking pictures in even the most challenging conditions. Christophe trained in photography in Los Angeles and furthered his creative studies in Paris where he worked with Mondino and the critically acclaimed design agency, Janvier. He is currently based in Australia, where he combines his work as a freelance photographer with racing on performance yachts. He has been widely exhibited; has worked international advertising campains and regularly contributes images to the national and international press through his photographic agencies. Current clients include Coca Cola, Harken, Nicorette and Rolex.
