JEEP® PARTENAIRE OFFICIEL DU GRAND PAVOIS LA ROCHELLE

La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France 46º08’34″N 01º09'58″W

The Grand Pavois La Rochelle Boat Show is the first boat show of the Autumn season.

Between Jeep® and the world of sailing, there is a common passion for wide-open spaces, synonymous with escapism and adventure. Each Jeeper harbours a desire to cast off as soon as they climb aboard their Jeep®.
This is one of the reasons which led Jeep®France to form a partnership with the Grand Pavois La Rochelle, recognised as being one of the top five in-water boat shows.

Onboard the Bélouga “Gwenva” during the “ Semaine du Golfe du Morbihan”.

The “Semaine du Golfe” (Gulf’s Week) in Morbihan, the 8th “rendez-vous” for the sailing maritime heritage.
Once again, the Gulf gathering boats of every size and every tradition: sail&oar craft, small “camp cruising” boats, classic yachts, fishing boats, classic motorboats… Most of them are coming from the French Atlantic coasts, but also, from The British Islands, the North Sea, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean…
The Gulf of Morbihan is a true inland ‘little sea’ composed of 12 000 hectares of Atlantic sea sheltered from swell. A magical place where sea, land & sky melt in changing & picturesque landscapes. The Morbihan Gulf is part of the World Most Beautiful Bays Club.
In breton language, « Mor-Bihan » means ‘little sea’. Thousands of years ago, when rivers had already dug their beds, they were deluged by Atlantic waters. This is why the Ocean goes so far inland towards Vannes & Auray through typically Breton rias, surrounding former hills which have turned into an archipelago of uncountable islands, the biggest being the Ile d’Arz & the Ile aux Moines.

Tour de Belle-Ile 2011

Brittany, France 47º23’97″N 3º15’84″W

Bucking his preference for being in the thick of the action, Christophe Launay finally gets up in a chopper like the lazy photogs and shows why his is one of the very best. This shot from the incredible nearly 500 boat fleet at the Tour De Belle-Ile. The 77-foot maxi tri Gitana 11 broke the record in 2 hours and 42 minutes with Seb Josse at the helm, but nearly was overtaken at the end by Lionel Lemanchois on the super-fast Irens Multi 50 trimaran Prince De Bretagne.
